In January of 2023, my life changed overnight. I had to undergo brain surgery for an aneurysm, and while the surgery saved my life, the seizure-prevention medication I was prescribed afterward took a quiet toll of its own — my hair became brittle, dry, and started falling out in the sink every single time I ran a comb through it.

As a licensed cosmetologist, I couldn't just sit with it. I did what I've spent my career doing for other women — I went to work. I began formulating my own hair growth products, blending ingredients I trusted to rebuild what the medication had stripped away. What started as a recovery routine for myself slowly became a full line, made for anyone fighting through thinning, shedding, or damage and wanting their hair — and their confidence — to feel like their own again.

The name Markvonne is deeply personal. It comes from my two middle names, Marketta Layvonne — names I was teased for my whole life because they were so different. I took the two, made them one, and put them on every bottle. What I was once made to feel small for now stands as the name of everything I've built.

A portion of every purchase is donated to The Aneurysm Foundation, because the journey that almost took my life is the same one that gave this brand its purpose.
